Clinical Programs

The Psychiatry Service at the UT Health Science Center is a full service clinical program directly operated by the clinical faculty of the Psychiatry Department of the School of Medicine.  We provide all of the mental health, behavioral health, and psychological services for our parent organization, UT Medicine.  If you want to know more about our clinical services, please contact our intake line at 210-567-5555 or follow the links on the left hand side of this page.

The links on the left hand side of this page, under the heading of UT Medicine Psychiatric Services, will expand to provide more information about our clinical services, categorized by help for adults, children and adolescents, or elders.  Because we are a research intensive clinical program, you will find that we can offer state-of-the-art treatment, often provided by national leaders in the field.  Additionally, through our clinical research programs we can provide access to investigational treatments that have not yet been released for general public use.  A separate listing of our current clinical research trials is available in the Research section of our website.

As a major academic health center, our department also manages many specialized training programs and collaborates with a large number of local hospitals, clinics, and health care providers.  Information about these independent collaborating programs is provided also on the left had side of this page under the headings, Major Teaching Hospital Links and Community Partners Links.  If you are interested in receiving care at one of these local hospitals or clinics, please contact them directly through the information provided in the section accessed by link.

Coping with a serious mental illness can be exceptionally difficult.  Unfortunately, finding good services can also be a challenge.  If we do not provide the service you need or are not covered by your current insurance provider, we can help you to identify alternative sources of help in the community.  We keep contact information for many outstanding local mental health providers and clinics and are happy to share this information with you.
