Child Guidance Center

The child and center of San Antonio is a private nonprofit outpatient clinic providing mental health care for children and adolescents.  The CDC provides care to over 2000 children a year with locations throughout Bexar County.  It serves as the principal outpatient treatment site for the child and adolescent satiety residency of the department.  Thomas Matthews M.D., Assistant Professor of Psychiatry, serves as a medical director of the facility.  CDC provides a wide range of services including individual and family therapy, group therapy and medication treatment for children with diverse disorders such as ADHD, depression, anxiety,  bipolar disorder.  It also provides therapy to families undergoing a wide variety of stressors.  CDC accepts Medicaid and can provide sliding scale fees for low income families without health insurance.  More information can be found at http://www.cgcsantonio.org.
