Professor, Division Chief of Geropsychiatry
Biography: Dr. Royall completed residency training in Psychiatry and Internal Medicine at Johns Hopkins University in 1990. He has been a member of the UTHSCSA Department of Psychiatry since 1990 and is the current Division Chief of Geropsychiatry. His research interests include neurocognitive predictors of functional status, autonomic function, and mortality in community dwelling elders. He also studies microbial etiologies of mental disorders
in elders. Dr. Royall has been recognized by the residents for his excellence in research mentorship. His research is funded by NIH support, industry sponsored clinical trial research, and private endowments.

Biography: Dr. Schillerstrom graduated from UTHSCSA Psychiatry Residency in 2004 and UTHSCSA Geropsychiatry Fellowship in 2005. He has been a member of the UTHSCSA Department
of Psychiatry faculty since 2005. His research interest is neuropsychological predictors
of functional status in elders with chronic disease. Dr. Schillerstrom is currently studying neuropsychological predictors of functional decline in elders with colon cancer and elders with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). His research is funded by industry sponsored clinical trial research and a private endowment.
