Southwest Brain Bank
Brain donation is a gift to future generations. We accept donations from individuals who have mental illness, such as schizophrenia, bipolar illness, and major depression. Additionally, we accept donations from individuals who have never had mental illness in order to make comparisons to individuals who had these disorders.
There are two ways to make a donation:
- Contact us at any time and register in our Gift of Hope Brain Donation Program. We will discuss the donation process and take medical and psychiatric information. We will then periodically keep in contact with you to update our information.
- The surviving relative(s) may give consent for brain donation at the time of death. A few months after the donation, the relative will be contacted again to obtain relevant medical and psychiatric information.
