Family Ministry Program |

| The Family Ministry Program is a 2 year intensive distance learning program that is designed to educate and equip interested church members to become lay concellors. The goal is to provide them with the nessessary skills to help other church members as well members of their community.
At the end of the program they should be able to provide support and education to others with psychiatric disorders and family problems and refer for professional help once needed. THey can also provide education and guidance to others in need of counselling and help clergy identify and manage family problems withing their scope of knowledge.
This program is funded by The Coptic (Egyptian)Otrthodox Dioces of the Southern United States
I participated, as a volunteer,in the planning as well as an intructor in the program since it started in 2006
I teach students the following courses: Psychopharmacology, parenting, psychopathology and diagnositic and statistical manual IV. |

| Supervisisng and teaching an average of 4 medical students daily. Students rotate every 6 weeks a total of approximatly 30 students per year. During the rotation I provide close supervision as well as teaching interviewing skills, diagnosis and managanet of psychiatric patients.
I organize a twice a week learning activity which includes study groups, case presentations and lectures.During which students are introduced to different aspects of inpatient psychiatric care, such as initial evaluation, medication management, social interventions, family meetings and coordination of aftercare. |
